Rousselet shocking pink vintage necklace c.1930-40

Very unique, gripoix shocking pink beads necklace, patined gold plated metal, french, late 30s, early 40s.

It’s in 1937 that Schiaparelli  made Shocking Pink her signature color. With this bold shade, her designs stood out against the restrained palettes that overtook fashion during World War II. Using bright colors, especially pink, was a way for Schiaparelli to disconnect from the global conflict at hand and find a source of inspiration.
